“Airports of Ukraine expect compensations from government due to ban on air travel from / to Belarus”, says Denys Kostrzhevskyi.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of  Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (IEV), Mr. Denys Kostrzhevskyi: “Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (IEV) is committed to join the entire democratic world and support the sanction against anti-democratic political regimes. Nevertheless, we hope that when making such decision potentially causing losses to some business entities, such as the airports, the government would offer some compensations”. 


In particular,  Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (IEV) monthly spends around UAH 2,5 million to pay the land leasing tax.  
“Partial tax exemption would be a highly appreciated compensation for lost profit, we expected to generate in this cost-COVID business restoration year”, says Chairman of the Board of Directors of  Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (IEV), Mr. Denys Kostrzhevskyi.


Thus, according to the preliminary estimates by the Airport management, in 2021 Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (IEV) expected to service around 150 thousand passengers (inbound and outbound) as part of Minsk-Kyiv-Minsk direction. Therefore, the resulting lost profit suffered by the Airport may reach around UAH 7 million.
