Authorities simplify self-Isolation conditions after travel: “Act at Home” App is only for 72 hours

Cabinet of Ministers amends Resolution №1236 of 09 December 2020 "On Quarantine and Restrictive Anti-Epidemic Measures to Prevent the Spread of Acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in the territory of Ukraine”.

The Ministry of Healthcare announces the changes will take effect upon the official publication of the Resolution, whereas the Ministry of Digital Transformation notes they are already in force.

As before, when crossing the state border of Ukraine, unvaccinated travelers will have to install the "Act at Home" Application, but from now on they will need it for 72 hours only: until a person will get a PCR or antigen test result.

There will be no need for geolocation and face recognition control. The application will no longer track geolocation and will be deactivated after 72 hours.

To register in the "Act at Home" Application, you will need to indicate: last name, first name, patronymic; series and/or passport number, self-isolation place address, and telephone number. The person must then have to take a PCR or antigen test within 72 hours. A negative result should be applied to the application. The test must be processed in a laboratory verified by the Ministry of HealthcareYou can then uninstall the application. If the result is positive, call your family doctor.

If a person for any reason does not take the test after crossing the border, after 72 hours the application is deactivated and the information is automatically passed to law enforcement. Their officers will selectively check on travelers remaining in a place of self-isolation.

If a person does not want to install the application, Ukrainian citizens will have to undergo a 14-day observation, and foreigners will be denied entry to Ukraine.

Minister Mikhail Fedorov said, "The Ministry developed the "Act at Home" Application in a few days during tough times for the country. The App successfully fulfilled its function. Last year, it was used by almost a million people who returned from abroad and self-isolated for 14 days. With the Application, they could do it at home in comfortable conditions. Or take the PCR test and end the self-isolation.

Now, given the current situation, the "Act at Home" Application will change its functions. It will only need to be installed for 72 hours and travelers' geolocation will not be regularly monitored, as well as there will be no need to take photos anymore."

The Ministry of Digital Transformation launched the "Act at Home" Application (I.e., "At Home") on April 7, 2020, so that during a year and a half citizens could use it to observe 14-day self-isolation at home after arriving from countries where there was a high risk of contracting Covid- 19.

Those who were diagnosed with Covid due to domestic transmission were not required to install this Application. Ukraine is now heading for the third Covid-19 peak outbreak. Soon our country may be removed from the "green list" of the European Union.
